Listening to YouTube Music together in a call

What it does

YouTube Music sits next to Watch Together in a call's Activities. Whoever starts it can browse their own home feed and playlists, or search for a song or artist. Everyone in the call then hears the same track at the same moment. The player shows the cover, a seek bar, and a row of everyone currently listening.

Why one person drives

Watch Together lets anyone in the call pause or seek. YouTube Music does not. Only the person who started the music can play, pause, seek or skip. Everyone else sees what is playing and can change their own volume, nothing more. Nobody can take over someone else's session either.

The reason is simple: the music comes from that person's account. Their playlists, their recommendations. It felt wrong to let anyone in the call steer someone else's account.

Playlists, shuffle and next

Open a playlist and use the shuffle button to start it in random order, or click any track to queue up the rest of the playlist after it. A next-track button appears whenever there is a queue to skip through.

What disdroc stores when you link

To show your own feed and playlists, disdroc has to keep credentials for your YouTube Music account on its server and use them for your requests. Other people in the call never touch your account. They only receive the track details that are shared with the room.

You can unlink your account at any time. Unlinking removes the active link, but it does not erase YouTube's own records.
Deleting your disdroc account removes the stored YouTube Music credentials. If that cleanup fails, deletion reports an error instead of pretending it worked.

Limits

One shared activity per call. Starting YouTube Music stops a Watch Together video, and the other way round.
Some tracks do not report their length up front. The seek bar stays empty until the real length is known instead of guessing. Before v1.3.1 this showed as "--:--" and a bar that looked stuck at the end.
Playback depends on YouTube's own service. When YouTube has trouble, so does this.

Ne yapıyor

Neden tek kişi yönetiyor

Birlikte İzle'de aramadaki herkes durdurup sarabilir. YouTube Music'te öyle değil. Müziği yalnızca başlatan kişi oynatabilir, durdurabilir, sarabilir ya da geçebilir. Diğerleri neyin çaldığını görür ve kendi ses düzeyini ayarlar, o kadar. Kimse başkasının oturumunu ele geçiremez.

Nedeni basit: müzik o kişinin hesabından geliyor. Onun çalma listeleri, onun önerileri. Aramadaki herkesin başkasının hesabını yönetebilmesi bana doğru gelmedi.

Çalma listeleri, karıştırma ve sonraki parça

Bir çalma listesi aç ve rastgele sırayla başlatmak için karıştır düğmesini kullan ya da herhangi bir parçaya tıklayarak listenin geri kalanını arkasına sıraya ekle. Geçilecek bir sıra olduğunda sonraki parça düğmesi görünür.

Hesabını bağladığında disdroc neleri saklıyor

Kendi akışını ve çalma listelerini gösterebilmek için disdroc'un YouTube Music hesabına ait kimlik bilgilerini sunucuda tutması ve senin isteklerin için kullanması gerekiyor. Aramadaki diğer kişiler hesabına hiç dokunmaz. Yalnızca odayla paylaşılan parça bilgilerini alırlar.

Hesabının bağlantısını istediğin zaman kaldırabilirsin. Bu, etkin bağlantıyı kaldırır ama YouTube'un kendi kayıtlarını silmez.
disdroc hesabını silmek, saklanan YouTube Music kimlik bilgilerini de siler. Bu temizlik başarısız olursa, silme işlemi her şey yolundaymış gibi davranmak yerine hata verir.

Sınırlar

Her aramada tek bir ortak etkinlik. YouTube Music'i başlatmak Birlikte İzle videosunu durdurur, tersi de geçerli.
Bazı parçalar uzunluklarını baştan bildirmiyor. Sarma çubuğu tahmin yürütmek yerine gerçek uzunluk belli olana kadar boş kalır. v1.3.1'den önce bu "--:--" ve sonda takılı kalmış gibi duran bir çubuk olarak görünüyordu.
Oynatma YouTube'un kendi hizmetine bağlı. YouTube sorun yaşadığında bu özellik de yaşar.
