Why disdroc has a blog now

disdroc is made and run by one person, on hardware I own. The Updates page lists every release in a line or two, and that is the right format for "what is new". It is the wrong format for decisions that need context: why end-to-end encryption is opt-in, what a feature does not protect, or why something you asked for is not there yet.

So this blog is for the longer version. Expect three kinds of posts:

Release posts for bigger versions, with the reasoning behind the changes.
How it works posts about things like encryption, voice and moderation, including their limits.
Honest status posts when something broke, or when something is harder than it looked.

Every post is in English and Turkish, like the rest of disdroc. Use the EN / TR switch at the top.

If you want a topic covered, post it on r/disdrocapp or send it through Support.

disdroc tek bir kişi tarafından, kendi sahip olduğum donanımda yapılıyor ve işletiliyor. Güncellemeler sayfası her sürümü bir iki satırla listeliyor; "ne yeni" için doğru biçim bu. Ama bağlam isteyen kararlar için yanlış biçim: uçtan uca şifreleme neden isteğe bağlı, bir özellik neyi korumuyor ya da istediğin bir şey neden henüz yok.

Bu blog uzun versiyon için. Üç tür yazı bekleyebilirsin:

Sürüm yazıları: büyük sürümler için, değişikliklerin arkasındaki nedenlerle.
Nasıl çalışıyor yazıları: şifreleme, ses ve moderasyon gibi konular hakkında, sınırlarıyla birlikte.
Dürüst durum yazıları: bir şey bozulduğunda ya da göründüğünden zor çıktığında.

disdroc'un geri kalanı gibi her yazı Türkçe ve İngilizce. Üstteki EN / TR düğmesini kullan.
